Our Glyntaff campus is in the heart of the South Wales Valleys, with beautiful scenery and rolling landscape. Across the road at our Treforest campus, you'll find an onsite student union, sports centre, restaurants, shops, and more, boasting a great student community.


 


NEWPORT

Right at the heart of the city, overlooking the River Usk, is one of the University’s most iconic buildings. We couldn’t be based in a better location to embrace city life in Newport.


 


SPORT PARK (PONTYPRIDD)

The campus hosts top of the range sporting facilities including an indoor FIFA standard 3G football pitch, which houses a Catapult ClearSky Indoor GPS System, a notational analysis suite, a strength and conditioning room, an all-weather pitch an outdoor 3G pitch and numerous multi use grass pitches amongst other things.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

 


 


An overall average of 60 - 65% or above in the 12th Standard depending on which Board you have studied

Advanced entry to certain undergraduate degree programmes may be possible for students who hold a UK HND or India Diploma in a relevant subject

 


Postgraduate Entry Requirements

 


An overall average of 3 Year degree (B.COM, BBA, B.SC, BCA etc.) at 60% (or CGPA of 6.0/10) from a recognised Indian university for entry to a relevant postgraduate programme.

An overall average of 4- or 5-Year degrees (B.E, BTECH, B PHARM, B. ARCH etc.) at 55% (or CGPA of 5.8/10) from a recognised Indian university for entry to a relevant postgraduate programme.

50% (or CGPA 5.5/10) minimum from the following Indian universities: University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, University of Pune, Jadavpur University or University of Calcutta 


English Language Requirement

 

GCSE pass in English at Grade C or above

IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component*. Please note that for those students who do not require a UKVI SELT, USW will also be able to accept the IELTS at-home test when it becomes available.

TOEFL with a score of 72 overall and a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing (including Home Edition)

Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): exams taken from January 2015 – overall score of 169 with at least 162 in each component; exams taken before January 2015 – Grade C and no less than borderline in each skill 

Trinity College English Language qualifications: ISE II Distinction or ISE III Pass

IELCA

Direct entry: 32 overall score, no less that 30 in each component

Direct entry needing a higher IELTS score: 35 overall, no less than 30 in each component

PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI with a score of 64 overall and 59 in each component. Please note that where a UKVI SELT is not required, we can also accept the scores above in the PTE Academic Online

LanguageCert International ESOL B2 Communicator Exam with a High pass with a score of 33 in each component

Scholarship

 


International Office Scholarships

International Office Scholarships worth up to £2,000 are available for students who are self-funding their studies.

You will be automatically be considered for one of these awards when we receive your application. 

Undergraduate (including top-ups): up to £1,500

Postgraduate: up to £2,000


 


Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship

 


Scholarship Amount: £10,000 

Payment will be via a tuition fee discount and is non-transferable. No cash alternative will be offered.

Number of Scholarships:

Three scholarships are available under this scheme through the University of South Wales.
